T-A-P Coffee

I set out on a quest for coffee knowing that the renowned T-A-P coffee is nearby, lurking at the end of Wardour Street. A somewhat strange exterior belies the lengthy room that reaches far back into the depths of Soho as the exterior merely has the street number and a painted bicycle on its frontage and yet T-A-P is well known enough it probably doesn’t need to state its name. This is the Wardour Street location rather than that of its Tottenham Court Road or Rathbone Place counterparts but it still holds true to the spirit of one of the first coffee stores in London that started offering a variety of espresso blends. T-A-P offer from their own roastery as well as guest blends and a variety of single origins in all forms from drip filter onwards and I settle down to an oat milk flat white whilst admiring the burnished wood and stainless steel set up that makes it feel a bit more complete and less austere than your average hipster start up cafe. The coffee is strong and punchy and certainly leaves you with a sense of knowing you’ve had some caffeine in your day, and the prices are marginally cheaper than many of your central London shot jocks that are splashed on every corner and thoroughfare so finding exquisitely and expertly poured flat whites is well worth the time of going out of your way for!
