Hello, I have to disagree with your comment that japan is not a big coffee country. There is a very particular coffee culture in Japan, mainly filter coffee. For example, the V60 filter, probably the most common hand brew method worldwide, has been invented in Japan.

That is some excellent knowledge sir and you’re quite right. I didn’t realise HARIO were the first, for some reason I thought it was a German or Austrian invention (probably because of the European association with other filter methods). I guess what I was angling at was the more mainstream culture in the sense tea drinking far outstrips coffee drinking in Japan and, as you say yourself, it is a very particular coffee culture there. For example, I’d say the Brits were a tea drinking culture and the Americans are coffee drinkers but you’d not be hard pushed to find either beverage in either given nation. I concede the point though, you are quite right.
